More Clean Knives

Here is a nice MAC that met it's match:

You can see where the dishwasher rack impacted the edge left the knife useless in terms of cutting food.
On the other hand, it did provide me with yet another opportunity to go to work on it.

You can imagine that to repair this edge, I need to remove metal, I can't fill in the holes so it is matter of very slowly removing all the metal on the damaged edge until the holes are gone. Once completed, I re-sharpen the edge and it's all ready to go.

I don't place my knives in the dishwasher :)

Dishwasher Blues

Now folks, if you want to get your knives clean, I mean almost molecular level clean you can put them in the dishwasher.  Here is a Global that is now extremely clean:

Here is another shot of it, see if you can spot any dirt on the micro edge:

If you want to get your nice Globals, or beautiful MAC this clean, you just need to run them through a normal cycle on your typical Maytag.
Now of the downside of course is that edges of these beautiful knives will disintegrate,  this can happen with one wash. BUT....again, the knives do come out incredible sanitary. You will not be able to use them anymore for cutting food of course but wow.

Seriously folks, this is why you need to hand wash your knives and dry them off right away. Don't do this  to your knives. Now it does provide me the opportunity to take a destroyed, abused and useless knife and transform it back into a what it was designed for. It really is a satisfying feeling to do that and I appreciate the opportunity.

Here is the same knife:
It is all ready for the dishwasher again :)

Yes I know it is filthy and only hand washed, but hey, you have to admit, this is one fine looking edge.

Thanks again for visiting my Blog, I appreciate it.
